Bill Bellamy tonight@Carloines Comedy Club
Listen to this article Listen to this article

Carloines Comedy Club
1626 Broadway
start time 8pm
$15-$25 cover; two drink minimum

Best known for etching the phrase "booty call" on the national psyche, Bill Bellamy discovered his aptitude for stand-up while auditioning for a male beauty pageant. Grasping for a skill to flex in the talent competition, he told a few jokes and found himself addicted to the unpredictable equation of working an audience. Despite his meteoric rise as an actor in television and feature film, the Newark-born hybrid continues to hone his craft in the comedy clubs, mining his experience for an act he describes as more R&B than hip-hop.

Toni Braxton asks her fans to "Please" look at my body
Listen to this article Listen to this article

toni_braxtonnew

The last time we heard new material from sultry songstress Toni Braxton was in 2002. The singer is back to please eager fans with her new single, "Please," which is the first cut off Braxton's upcoming, untitled album. The video can be found on Launch.yahoo.com. Toni proves once again that the less cloths you have on the better. The video is very sexy and will once again put her back in the public eye. One must wonder if we will have to suffer through another season of her sister Towanda Braxton-Carter on that damn show "Starting Over."

Whitney Houston is out (again).
Listen to this article Listen to this article

Whitney-Houston-700

Whitney oh Whitney...you where absent from Oprah's Legends Ball. An event you should have been at. However you where to busy smoking weed and buying cheap crack rock to help celebrate the wonderful event that was at Oprah's house. You need to really get yourself together. And why isn't Bobby in Rehab?

Anyway you've let these no talent bitches take over the music scene and give us really wack and dry music that's over produced. It's time for you to get your act together get back into the studio and let them know what real singing is about.

Yes Crack might be cheap but that doesn't mean you should smoke it up. Seems like you've been on a 15 year fixed high, while the music business is in a slump. Everyone loves a good come back so now is your time to really make that return. Now go into hiding, write some songs of pain, of living just enough for the crack pipe. Do a duet with Mary J. Blige and make it hot. Otherwise we are going to have no talent hacks like that Carrie who just won American Idol singing your songs.

GET IT TOGETHER Whitney!

IF you need assistance just holla at us 1800GETGREASY

IS Foxy Brown ok?
Listen to this article Listen to this article

sq-foxy-brown-candy-defFoxy Brown was recently spotted at a rally showing her support for Minister Farrakhan. However, our spy reports that mama looked nervous and was "shaking." Foxy was fumbling through her extra large over priced hand bag and was seen scribbling on another person notebook about how she was ready to leave the function. Her new arch enemy Remy Ma was in the place and was overheard saying "look at her. You see her shaking."

What's going on Ms. Brown? Stop fighting with Remy Ma and put out another album PLEASE. We still love you but it's time to grow up. The fights and the over dramaticness of yourself has got to end. You more worried about what Remy Ma is doing then when your about to put out another album. Hello Eve has moved past all ya'll bitches. TV show , clothing line, movies, multi-platinum albums...EVE is doing her thing. You and Kim where out a long time before her. But look at what she's accomplished.

So Foxy please let Remy Ma go. She is just one woman and that whole beef thing is PLAYED out like a $2 hair weave.

See you at the next function - GG

Subway Entertainment
Listen to this article Listen to this article

Who would have known that there is so much talent underground in NYC? During anytime of the day or night you can run across a train show. Most frequently you will see the hip-hop dance performance. Usually two or three brotha’s break dance on the train to the hottest break beats. You might also run into a Puerto Rican kid playing 50 Cent on his violin. There are a lot of singers that will roll though the train at any given time. And now starting to pop up on the trains are the spoken word artist spitting ill rhymes for a few coins. Keep ya eyes out for train entertainment cause you’ll never know what you’ll see.

Go tour the show, then check out a free screening of "Downtown 81," the documentary about NYC's idiosyncratic artistic scene circa 1980. Then you can chat with the film's producers, Maripol and Glenn O'Brien, and get jiggy at a dance party hosted by the don of soul, Fab 5 Freddy. Brooklyn Museum, 200 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, (718) 638-5000. Screening starts at 7 p.m. Free.

Out on the town: New York Get's Unleased
Listen to this article Listen to this article

Last night we had invites to the NY premiere of Unleashed staring Jet Li and Morgan Freeman. We got to the movie theater early cause industry folks tend to get to movie screenings early so they can get good seats. However, there was no line so we just breezed right into the function. Inside was a who's who of acting faces we sat one row over from Morgan Freeman and just a few seats away from Saffron Burrows. The Rza from the Wu-Tang clan was there chillin. He scored the movie..this is becoming his forte now having helped score Kill Bill. Mark Ecko kicked off the movie by introducing the director Brett Sullivan.

The movie was good it was a action flick with a heart. Good fighting and good acting on the parts of Oscar winner Morgan Freeman and Jet Li.

The after party was heled at Mark Ekco's fabulous loft. We now want to own a loft after having been to his loft. His space is filled with different cloths from his collection, a pool table, leather sofa's, hard wood floors, and a bar in the middle of it all. We did the industry walk about to see who was who. The party was filled with fashion people, publicist, rappers, street teamers, and NY social wannabees. One Complex employee who use to work at Vibe magazine has picked up A LOT of weight. Stop eatting all those cookie's mama that tummy is not cute.

After downing a nasty apple flavored drink and making the rounds we left the party and headed home. NO GIFT BAGS! How dare they!

Shout out to our Allhiphop.com fam. Jason who was in the house mixing and mingeling.

See you at the next function. Chow Bella! - GG

DJ Emskee talks about Black Betty
Listen to this article Listen to this article

emskeews11

DJ Emskee, NY's hot mix master, gave us a few works on music at Black Betty, here's what he had to say to Da Greasy Guide:

Black Betty is worlds away from commercial radio, it's antics, and general spam music recycling. The gig is held down by THE TOGETHER BROTHERS crew which includes Dj Monk One, myself, and G Man the mc. We play virtually everything from original salsa, to old school dancehall reggae, classic soulful house, old school hip hop, some new stuff, album cuts, rare 12" inches, soulfunk, 80's contemporary, UK soul/hip hop, and more. To sum it up, anything that touches your soul and spirit and makes your toes tap or head nod...constantly. The party's been running for 4 years and is a music lovers party. Heads come to hear what the dj's are going to serve up from week to week. Sometimes there are 4 people in the whole place and sometimes it's healthy with people. The constant is that there's ALWAYS excellent music and a cool vibe which you don't get at most mainstream clubs that everyone flocks too. I can talk all day about it, but heads would have to come through to actually critique for themselves. My opinion is that most people are married to the radio and videos so their minds are only truly open to a point.

Visit his website at:
DJ Emskee On-Line to refrence mixes and other info.

Check him out TONIGHT at Black Betty 366 metropolitan avenue at havemeyer street) in williamsburgh, brooklyn from around 10 until 4:30am. No Cover, cheap drinks, and GOOD MUSIC! TAKE THE L TRAIN!

I used to always eat there with quest love and common we used to meet there every Sunday religiously they introduced me to the place actually and I love it, I take my husband there and we like to eat there.
